The Ways of the...

A TREE DRUIDS A TREE

### Before Time Was...

Before time was, there was The One. The One was all wisdom, all knowledge, all experience, all power, caught in a constant, yet timeless, flow of change. And space moved. The One moulded energy into twin forms, equal but opposite, fashioning the Goddess and God, forming Their conscience, Their reasoning, Their love.

The Goddess and God stretched forth and gave thanks to The One, but darkness surrounded Them. They were alone, solitary save for The One. So They formed energy into gasses and gasses into suns and planets and moons. They sprinkled the universe with whirling globes and so all was given shape by the hands of the Goddess and God.

The sky was woven by the light of a billion suns, and The creators, satisfied with Their works, rejoiced, loved and became one. From Their union sprang the seeds of all life and of the human race so that we might achieve incarnation upon the Earth.

The Goddess chose the Moon as Her symbol, and the God chose the Sun as His, to remind the inhabitants of Earth of their fashioners. All are born, live, die and reborn beneath the faces of the Sun and Moon. All things come to pass thereunder, with the blessing of The One, who triggered the roots of creation, before time began.

### Words to the Wise

O daughters and sons of the Earth, adore the Gods and Goddesses, and nurture with the fullness of life. Know that They have brought you to this Misty Vale, for herein are taught our Druid ways; to serve and to fulfil the keepers of wisdom, the tenders of the sacred flame of knowledge. Run the rites with love and joy, and the Elders will bless you with all you need. But those who practice dark magic will know their greatest wrath.

Remember that you are of the Vale, tread not the ways of doubt. Walk the path of light, ever climbing amongst of the shadows across the perilous slopes of mortality, unto the highest realm of existence. There may you sit upon the seat of wisdom and know peace. Those that live in ignorance of the knowledge which we hold sacred will never know the wonders of our ways. Thus, alone, we run our rites in the Vale beneath moon filled skies and are happy.

Live fully, for that is the purpose of life. Refrain not from Earthly existence. From it we grow to learn and understand until such time that we are reborn to learn more, repeating this cycle till we have spiralled up the path to perfection and can meet with our Gods and call them kin.

Travel the fields and forests as their friends, be refreshed by the cool spring winds and the touch of a nodding flower. Hear the Moon and Sun sing in the wild places - the deserted seashore, the stark desert, the roaring waterfall, the barren moor and the ancient bog. We are of the Earth and should revere Her, so do Her honour.

### The Nature of Our Ways

Hold the rites in forests, by the seashore, on deserted mountain tops or near tranquil lakes. Even the secure confines of a keep may suffice if prepared with incense and flowers.

Seek out wisdom in books, rare manuscripts, and cryptic scrolls; seek it also in the stones, the herbs and in the cries of wild birds. Listen to the whisperings of the wind and the roar of the water if you would discover new magics, for it is there that the ancient secrets are preserved.

Remember that diversity and change are blood of life. That which remains static will outlive it's spirit - that which evolves and grows will surely shine for eternity. Ensure that thy actions are honourable, for in time, all that you do shall return to you three-fold for good or ill.

Share our sacred ways with those who seek them but be wary of those who are clothed in a shroud of falsehood with evil intent. Mock not the rituals and spells of another, for who can say yours are greater in power and wisdom?

Be wary of one who would dominate you, who would control and manipulate your workings and reverences. True reverence occurs within. Snare those who would twist worship from you for their won gain and glory. Welcome those suffused with genuine love. Honour all living things, destroy only when thy life is in peril and conserve the Earth's tentative balance of nature.
